Liverpool Hammer West Ham

Liverpool Hammer West Ham

Our latest fixture saw Liverpool hammer West Ham. Pardon the pun, but we really did hammer them. Maybe 4-1 flattered them but, on the other hand, some may say that they did have a fair few chances of their own. Things may have been completely different if Read More…

Did Maribor Remind You Of Anyone?

Did Maribor Remind You Of Anyone?

After the all too easy 7-0 away victory against Maribor a couple of weeks ago, the return leg was considered to be a formality. That is an easy mistake to make. We all thought the 2nd leg against Stromsgodset in the 1974/75 Cup Winners Cup would also be a walkover. In actual fact we struggled in the 2nd leg to a 1-0 victory. That’s not a complaint by the way. Read More…

Well Earned Three Points For Liverpool

Well Earned Three Points For Liverpool

It certainly didn’t start out that way, but in the end it was a well earned three points for Liverpool. As it is, I can’t give my own view on the game as I didn’t go on Saturday. A 5pm family get together meant that I offloaded my ticket. But, like virtually every game this season we dominated as, yet again, the statistics showed. Read More…

Liverpool Fans Are Getting Restless

Yesterday’s emphatic scoreline of Tottenham 4, Liverpool 1 does not really fully reflect how the game went. Yes, Tottenham were clinical, yes Tottenham were good, but were they 4-1 that good? Tottenham fans will probably say that they were. But as ever with Liverpool, a scoreline does not necessarily paint the complete picture. Is it really worth going through all the statistics….again? Liverpool Write A Piece Of History

Well, it finally happened didn’t it. We’ve been saying for a few weeks that someday, someone will get a good pasting from us. Sadly for Maribor it was them. Everything seemed to click as Liverpool write a piece of history. Already holding the Champions League record for their 8-0 home win against Besiktas in 2007, Liverpool ran riot against their Slovenian counterparts. Read More…

Honours Even But More Promising Signs

Honours Even But More Promising Signs

Not the result we wanted or deserved. But as things stand, honours even but more promising signs to give us encouragement. In many ways our 0-0 draw with Manchester United was so typical of so many of some of our recent matches. Dominate possession, loads of shots, playing well generally but no end product. It all sounds so familiar doesn’t it.  Read More…

On This Day 12th October 1895

As this is the build up to what will no doubt be another epic encounter with arch rivals, Manchester United, we reflect on this day 12th October 1895. On this day, we met our soon-to-be bitter rivals for the first time. Although at the time they were known as Newton Heath. No videos I’m afraid as the cameraman was on holiday that day!! Who would have thought then that this fixture would become so huge. It is without doubt one of the biggest fixtures in the UK, in Europe, in fact, in the world of football. So, what happened on this day 12th October 1895?  Read More…

On This Day 8th October 2015

On this day 8th October 2015, Liverpool announced the appointment of new manager, Jurgen Klopp, after the dismissal of Brendan Rodgers.

It was so very apparent that Liverpool’s next manager after Rodgers needed to be a well established, top coach with a proven, successful background. Read More…

On This Day 6th October 1991

Is it really that long ago!! I remember it so well. On this day 6th October 1991 saw Rob Jones make his debut for Liverpool. Just 48 hours after signing for the team he supported as a boy, Jones made his debut for the Reds. More like a baptism of fire really. The debut, as it happens, was against arch rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford. Read More…

On This Day 4th October 2015

On this day 4th October 2015 was a very significant in our most recent history. After a hard fought 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park, Fenway Sports Group made the decision to sack manager, Brendan Rodgers.

This decision came after a poor start for Liverpool in the 2015/16 season. The general consensus of opinion was that the decision was made before the game and Rodgers apparently was aware of that.  Read More…
